People Go to Work, 2022
Video Installation
Home is Where the Art Is, Liverpool

In People Go to Work, the artist transforms CCTV footage from her own workplace into a conscious sequence of films, turning the rhythms of daily labor into a form of performance. While continuing her regular tasks in a restaurant, she becomes simultaneously worker and performer, revealing the subtle choreography embedded in routine gestures. The work explores how surveillance mediates perception, blurring the boundary between the everyday and the performative, and highlighting the theatricality inherent in ordinary life.
